The Short Version: After living throughout the western U.S., I now claim rural Northern Nevada as my home. If I’m not reading or writing, I’m enjoying a beautifully ordinary life with my amazing husband and four outstanding children. I love the Lord and am grateful for the many opportunities I’ve discovered as I serve Him. My writing goal is to bring others joy, hope, fun, and love.

The Long Version: I grew up with a lot of opportunities. One was the opportunity to experience a crazy, fun childhood with an older brother and sister and a younger brother and sister. My favorite things to do as a kid were playing with my siblings, riding horses on the ranch, reading too many books, playing basketball with friends, and writing for school assignments. (Yes, I was one of those wild kids who liked school).

I was lucky enough to meet my husband at our high school in rural Nevada (though we didn’t officially become sweethearts until after I graduated). In college I studied photography and received an associate degree of the arts. I enjoyed building a small photography business, adding that job experience to others such as a cashier at K-mart, a hand on a ranch, a wrangler at a ranch resort, and a secretary at a mattress factory. Somewhere in middle of all that work, I did the fun, smart thing and married my wonderful husband.

We were blessed to live in Oregon and have two healthy, active boys during our time there. Once we moved back to Nevada, I settled into motherhood and again found time for books. As I was reading a YA novel, I had the thought that I could do this. I could write a book. With the support and excitement of my family, I started writing. And that is how The Converters Trilogy came to be. Once I finished the first, challenging book, I was hooked on the process of inspiration seeking.

It has been over ten years from the beginning of my author journey. During those years, I’ve had times of plentiful writing and times of writing scarcity. I’ve also had the privilege of rearing two more children (one boy and one girl). Parenting four wonderful, fun kids takes time, and I’m grateful my family helps me find time in all our craziness for writing.

When I’m not writing or doing other self-published author stuff, I enjoy watching basketball, reading on my Kindle, playing video or board games with my family, serving as a youth counselor, and spending time with extended family members.

With enough stories, ideas, and plots to fill a lifetime, I plan on sharing my voice for as long as I can. I hope you will find some of the joy, inspiration, and spirit I discover as I write and create. There’s much more to come!
