Review Tuesday – Six of Crows
This is one of those hyped up books I just had to read. I’m sure you’ve all seen Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. You recognize that cover? Right? Okay, so this is the start of a new series, but it is based in the same world as Bardugo’s other series (which I have not read). This is a fantasy type world where we have some people who are blessed (cursed?) with magical abilities. A man discovers a drug that makes these magical beings super powerful and is kidnapped by the one nation who has vowed to destroy these...

IT’S HERE! The Keep’s Release Day!!! We finally made it!!! To celebrate (and because I love this), here’s a review for you: “Takes us right back into the crazy, fast paced world of converting, with Desiree on the run after the shocking events of the first book. I was sucked into this captivating read from page one. Berezay creates a world of supernatural and does so with a huge dose of humor, action, romance and enough inner dialogue to leave you thinking about this book long after you finish the last page. This...

It’s almost here!!! Tomorrow!!! Tomorrow, is that very, very magical day. The Keep (Converters Book 2) will be released, let loose out there into the wonderful hands of readers, hopefully to bring joy and entertainment to all. To promote this great event, The Convergence (Converters Book 1) will be free and I’ll be taking part in a book blog tour. For those of you who don’t know, a blog tour is essentially a regular book tour (where author’s share excerpts from their book and other great tidbits) but it takes place...
read moreReview Tuesday – The Princess Companion
I stumbled across this book by chance awhile ago, and recently stumbled across the fact that I hadn’t reviewed it! This one is a fairy-tale retelling by Melanie Cellier called The Princess Companion. I really enjoyed this retelling of the princess and the pea. Still, I think it would be a disservice to give this a full five stars because I feel like a lot of it was on the verge of great writing while a lot of it was already there. There were a couple of times where I found myself flipping (skipping is probably more accurate...
read moreOne Week Away!! My review of The Keep
This feels pretty surreal, my friends. I have written two books and, as of next week, will have two books available for purchase. TWO! This is crazy, right?!! I am really, really pumped for getting your feelings on The Keep (which you can go and pre-order on Amazon. Got it? Awesome.) Now, to get you as pumped for this as I am, I’m going to leave you my review of The Keep. WARNING: This review will be very tongue-in-cheek, narcissistic fluff. So, take it all with a grain of salt and then read it for yourself IN ONE WEEK!! This is one of...
read moreReview Tuesday – So Rare A Gift
For today’s review, I’m going back to one of my favorite genres, historical fiction. Specifically, the civil war era with So Rare a Gift by Amber Lynn Perry. Anna is running from her father and an arranged marriage. She sails to America where she winds up in the protection of Henry, an ex-British soldier. All the while, the two keep dangerous secrets from each other that come to light as their feelings deepen and the threats against them strengthen. Perry’s books really draw you in. She gives a great insight into the...

THE KEEP comes out in two weeks!! TWO weeks!!! Before all the promos and extras start, I wanted to post one more extra from THE CONVERGENCE. This is Chapter One from Blake’s perspective. Enjoy! Next week the countdown will start (at least officially…I’ve been counting down for months 🙂 ). THE CONVERGENCE – Chapter One (Blake’s POV) She’s a probability. For too many mind-numbing months, I’ve been watching and waiting. More than likely the person I’m looking for has already moved on. Unless it’s her—Desiree...

A couple of weeks ago I was asked to be a part of YA Author Rendezvous (a website dedicated to YA authors). This is pretty great for me because I can reach out for great advice, promotion help, etc. This is great for you, because it gives me a plethora of great, indie and lesser known author’s to read and review. Coincidentally, as I went on the site to browse through the author’s I discovered one on there who’s book I had just downloaded to my Kindle two days earlier. Weird, right? I took it as a sign and started...
read moreThe Trilogy
As an indie author, if I could change one thing I’ve done it would be to NOT start my career with a trilogy. Building plots and characters and intensity through one book is hard enough. Three is downright daunting. The plus side is you do have more room to build the characters, plot, and drama. Lots of room to make your story great, but also tons of room to ruin it. Also, indie author’s shorter books sell better. Readers are more willing to try out a 200 page story from an unknown author than a 400 page novel. A trilogy is...

I know I just recently read and reviewed a Sheralyn Pratt book, King of the Friend Zone. I had liked that one so much, I went looking for her other books and found, Pimpernel. This such a different, amazing read. There is romance, but it is really secondary to every other crazy thing going on. Our main character is a college-age student caught up in a conspiracy. The Pimpernel comes in to help save her, but, first, she’s has to help him catch the other players in the scheme. This book has an Ocean’s Eleven feel to it. There...
